 synne as ferforth as he can / 246 all must be said and nothing  
 excused ne hid ne forwrappid and not auaunte hym of  
 his good werkis / 247 And fertherouer it is necessarye to  
 vnderstande whens that synnys spryngen / And how they  
 encrecen / And ther ben 248 spryngyng of synnys as seyth  
 seynt Poule in this wyse / That right as by a man synne  
 entryd first in to this worlde / and thurgh that synne  
 deyde / Right so deth entryd in to alle men that synneden  
 249 And this man was adam by whom that synne entryd  
 in to this world / whan he brak the comandement of god  
 250 And therfore he that first was so myghty that he shold  
 not haue deyd / becam suche one that he muste nedes deye  
 whether he wold or no and al his progenye that is in  
 this world that in that maner synne deyen / 251 Loke that  
 in the state of Innocence whan Adam and Eue were na-  
 ked in paradyse and no shame had of her nakydnes .  
 252 how that the serpent that was most wyly of al other bestes  
 that god had made sayd to the woman / comanded god  
 to you ye shuld not ete of euery tre in paradyse / 253 The wo  
 man answerd of the fruyt sayd she of the trees in para  
 dyse we feden vs / But sothly of the fruyt of the tree that  
 is in the myddel of paradyse / god forbad vs for to eten  
 ne to touche it lest perauenture we shal deye / 254 The serpent  
 said to the woman / nay / nay / ye shal not deye of deth  
 For soth god wote that what day that ye ete therof your  
 eyen shal open and ye shal be as goddes knowyng  
 good and harm / 255 The woman sawe that the tre was  
 good to fedyng and fair to the eye and delectable to the  
 sight / She took of the fruyt of the tree and ete of hit .
