| 925 Right so farith synne that longe tyme is in a mā vnshewd | |||
| 926 Certis a man ought hastely to shewe his synne for many | |||
| causis / and for drede of deth that cometh ofte tyme so sodenly | |||
| & is in no certein what tyme it shal be ne in what place 927 And | |||
| eke the lenger he tarieth the ferther is he fro Crist And yf | |||
| be abyde vnto his last day / scarsely may he shriue or amende | |||
| hym for his synnys or repente hym for the greuous maladye | |||
| of his deth / 928 And for as muche as he hath not in his lif her | |||
| kenyd Ihesu crist whan he hath spoken vnto hym / he shal crye | |||
| vnto our lord at his last day & skarcely he shal herken hym | |||
| 929 Vnderstonde that this condicion muste haue foure thinges . | |||
| First that thy shrifte be pourueid afore and auised / And | |||
| that a man can shriue hym of his synnys be it of pryde or of | |||
| enuye & so forth with the spicis & circumstancis / 930 And that | |||
| he haue comprehendid in his mynde the nombre & the grete- | |||
| nes of his synnys / 931 and how long he hath leyen in synne / and | |||
| eke that he be contrite of his synnys / and be in stedefast pur- | |||
| poos by the grace of god neuer efte to falle ayen in synne to | |||
| whiche he is inclined / 932 also thou shalt shriue the of alle thy | |||
| synnys to one mā / and not parcelmele to one man & parcel- | |||
| mele to another / Than is it to be vnderstande in thentent to | |||
| perten thy confession as for shame or drede for it nys but stran | |||
| gling in thy soule / 933 For certes Ihesu crist is all good / in hym | |||
| is none imperfection / And therfore he foryeuith al perfightly . | |||
| & els neuer a deel / 934 I saye not yf þu be assigned to the penetan | |||
| cer for certain synne that thou art bounde to shewe him all the | |||
| remenaunt of thy synnys of which þu hast be shriuen of thy | |||
| curate but yf it like þe of thin humilite / this is no deperting of | |||
| shrifte / 935 ne I say not there as I speke of diuision of cōfession | |||
