 Ho shal no good haue that he may suffise  
 For al the good he spendith ther aboute  
 He lese shal therof haue I no doute  
Who so that listith vttre his folye  
 Let hym com forth and lerne to multiplye  
 And euery man that hath aught in his cofre  
 Let hym apere and wexe a philisofir  
 Prest or Chanon or ony other wight  
 Though he sitte at his book day and nyght  
 In lernynge of this eluysshe nyce lore  
 Al is in veyn and parde mochil more  
Is to lerne alewd man this subtilte  
 Fy spek not ther of it wol not be  
 And can he lettrure or can he none  
 As in effect he shal fynde it allone  
 For bothe two be my sauacion  
Concludyn in multiplicacion  
 Al liche weel when they haue al y do  
 This is to seyn they faylen bothe two  
 Yet forgat I to make rehersayll  
 Of watris corosiff and of lymayll  
And of bodijs mollificacion  
 And also of her induracion  
 Oylis ablacions metall fusibill  
 To telle you al it wold passe ony bibyl  
 That owhere is therfore as for the best  
Of thyse namys now wol I me rest  
 For as I trowe I haue told y nowe  
 To reyse a fynde al loke he neuer so Rowe
